Violence is preventable

In rural Rwanda, an evaluation of the Indashyikirwa couples’ training found a significant reduction in women’s experiences (55%) and men’s perpetration (47%) of physical and/or sexual IPV. Other benefits included reduced conflict, better communication and trust, reduced exposure of children to violence, and improved health and household economic status.
