Violence prevention in Mercy’s community is important because it will help to stop the vicious cycle of violence. We see that Mercy tolerates violence since she saw violence taking place in her own family growing up. This reinforces the acceptance of violence and impunity. If violence is prevented this vicious cycle will end, thus there will not be a need to respond to violence in the future.
