- Identify common types, consequences, and patterns of VAW, with a focus on intimate partner violence (IPV).
- Distinguish between VAW prevention and response interventions.
- Describe how to apply VAW prevention principles.
- Explain the links between gender inequality and VAW.
- Identify risk factors, protective factors, and situational triggers of IPV using the socio-ecological model.
- Identify how prevention strategies can address specific risk factors, protective factors, and/or situational triggers at different levels.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for:
- Violence prevention practitioners
- Feminist activists
- Women human rights defenders
- Anyone else interested in VAW prevention and causes
What are the requirements to join?
The requirements are:
- Show interest in violence prevention
- Have a functional laptop/mobile phone and access to stable internet
- Proficient in English
- Complete all the sessions and quizzes
What is the learning schedule?
This is a self-paced, online course designed to take five to six hours, but you are encouraged to take as much time as you need. It offers various learning methods to engage different types of learners. You must complete all sessions to receive the course certificate, but you will be able to move freely between the sessions and interact with the information at your own pace. You can also revisit all the topics after completing the course.
