        In the context of our communities, the below strategies are working;
        Economic and Social empowerment
        Couples programs
        Parenting programs
        Community mobilization
        Addressing harmful alcohol and other substances abuse

        For instance , we have a lot of VSLAs established in the communities and they are helping women a lot.

          Mercy`s situation is not very different with what women experience in my community, most men are mistreating women and abusing them because they know women have been depressed by the cultural beliefs. However due to some interventions that we have done in the communities, the level of violence have reduced and men are now able to realize the effects of their behaviours and most of the harmful cultural practices that fueled GBV have been modified and some completely eliminated.

            Involvement of community activists in creating awareness on the effects of GBV is placed on universal prevention as it is not only targeting a selected group but the community at large.

              Hello Everyone
              I am Amos Mlotha and am a project officer in GBV/SRHR project at WOLREC in Malawi. Am happy to be part of the team that will be sharing a lot of experiences in gender and hoping to learn more and also contribute extensively to all the discussions. This will help me to have a vast knowledge on how to end VAW and IPV.
