  • Violence prevention is important for the well-being of Mercy’s whole community. When violence can be prevented from happening, women and children who would otherwise be victims will have better health outcomes and even the economic well-being of the community will improve.

    One example of a violence prevention activity in Mercy’s community could be men’s classes and mentorship groups that focus on changing masculinity norms.

    Hi everyone, my name is Gianna and I work as a Court Monitor to monitor the progress of state child welfare agencies towards court-ordered reforms in the United States. Previously, I worked for 3 years on neighbourhood-scale violence prevention governance and planning in Cape Town, South Africa. I am looking forward to expanding my skills with this community!
