community mobilisation has been a strategy that has yielded results in bringing the community together and working on common goals

parenting programmes have yielded results in building family bonds and helping parents understand their roles and responsibilities in the family

economic empowerment initiatives have seen the establishment of a chicken project which has enabled women to start an egg business and become more sustainable in their communities

Due to high levels of Substance and alcohol abuse in my community, one of the prevention strategies that would work is on addressing harmful alcohol abuse and couples programme to increase understanding and good communication. Given that women still have less access to power and resources, a programme on economic and social empowerment and economic transfers would be of great help.
others that would also work is on community mobilization and advocacy in order to change harmful cultural norms and practices that disempowers girls and women. Parenting programmes would also do in order to bring up a generation of men that respect girls and women and have a changed mindset.

Gender friendly family education and gender responsive pedagogy is the best mechanisms to minimize the violence . because the basic cause of GVB are rooted on socially constructed norms and belief of the society . Gender sensitive education is best to deconstruct those causes .
